Dr Aby Cohen

Aby has a PhD in Theatre Theory and Practice and is a scenographer, exhibition designer, curator and educator. Internationally recognized and awarded with significant international experience in Theatre, Exhibitions and Cinema, with a production that includes a large number of sets, costumes, exhibition and production design, curatorship and independent authorial projects in more than 10 countries. Aby has collaborated on projects that encompass a variety of formats: exhibitions, performances, workshops, and artistic residencies; working with artists, designers and communities.

Awarded with the Prague Quadrennial Golden Triga PQ2011 as designer and curator, and the IDCA2013 – International Design Communication Awards for a project at Wereldmuseum, Amsterdam. International Curator of the PQ2015 SharedSpace/Politics. PQ2019 National Curator of Brazil and, in PQ2023, participated as co-curator of Beyond UK section of the UK national curatorial project Hello Stranger. President of OISTAT 2021/2025 – acronym for: International Organization of Scenographers, Theatre Architects and Technicians.
